In a fascinating study performed in Scotland, researchers read the brainwaves of subjects as they walked through different environments such as busy urban streets or parks. In the urban environment, the subjects were more alert and frustrated. When walking in nature, their brainwave readings became more meditative. Nature engages and relaxes the brain, which makes it a great environment for reflection and it makes it easier to concentrate later in the day.
